What is Time Stacking?
Time stacking is the act of combining two or more activities in order to save time. It is best used with activities that don’t require your full attention.
How to apply Time Stacking
You can apply time stacking in your own life by combining two or more activities. For example, I started riding my bike to work instead of taking the bus. This enables me to combine the activity of transportation (1) with exercising (2). I also listen to podcasts to learn new skills (3). An alternative time stacking combo is to commute with a friend, colleague, or spouse. Then you’re being social instead!

Time stacking is best used if you combine activities that don’t require 100% of your attention to get the best possible result. I found that it was too difficult to retain any of the information I learned from non-fiction audiobooks. While podcasts where I can learn something from the big concepts, while the details are unimportant, work pretty well.
